LWML Sewing Ministry

We are very grateful to our dear Lord for His blessings upon our sewing ministry.

The LWML Sewing Ministry meets the second and fourth Tuesdays for the months of May until mid-October. They average 8-10 ladies at each meeting. A short devotion is enjoyed by the group each meeting then it is time for busy hands.

The quilts they work on are donated to many places like the Seminaries, Faith in Action, Cass County Emergency Services, Pregnancy Centers, Lutheran World Relief, May Creek Senior Living Campus, Golden Living Center, Lutheran Island Camp Quilt Auction, Immanuel Lutheran School Silent Auction and others. In addition they present all babies that are baptized and graduates from High School at Immanuel Lutheran Church a quilt.

They continue to receive donated fabrics, embroidery floss and thread for the quilts which are greatly appreciated. The main sizes of quilts they make are 60″x 80″, 50″x 70″, 45″ x 54″ for the Youth Quilts and 36″x 42″ for the Lap Robes and Baby Quilts.

In 2014 the Quilters have volunteered over 700 hours and have made 40 quilts of various sizes.
